Back-to-School Prayer Guide for Parents: Praying Over Your Kids During the First Week of School (Day Five)

Day 5: Pray for open, honest communication between you and your child so they feel loved and heard.

Day 5: Open Communication

Scripture:
“Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.” – Ecclesiastes 4:12

Prayer Points:

Practical Tip:
Find time every night, even if only for a few minutes, to ask your child about their day. Ask open-ended questions, listening to truly hear what they have to say instead of offering advice (unless they ask for it).

Bonus Blessing: Speak This Over Your Child Every Day Before School

“May God bless you, protect you, and make His face to shine upon you. May you walk in blessing and favor, guided by the Holy Spirit. You are loved, valued, and a child of God. You are made in the image of Christ and He is always with you.”
