There are days we feel confident and steady\u2026 and days we feel like we\u2019ve missed the mark completely. But Scripture gives us a powerful encouragement in&nbsp;<em>Lamentations 3<\/em>:<strong>&nbsp;God\u2019s mercies are new every morning.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That means yesterday\u2019s mistakes don\u2019t define tomorrow\u2019s impact. You can start fresh\u2014today, tomorrow, and every day after that. Your words, your prayers, your intentionality still have the power to shape the next generation and even generations to come.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One of the most meaningful ways we do this is through&nbsp;<strong>the gift of blessing.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Blessing isn\u2019t just \u201cnice words\u201d or optimistic wishes. It is the intentional act of speaking God\u2019s truth, favor, and purpose over our children. It is a spiritual legacy\u2014a covering that extends far beyond a single moment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And Scripture shows us a pattern for how this blessing takes root through what I call<strong>&nbsp;The Big Three: Consistency, Communication, and Covering.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Consistency \u2014 Establish Rhythms That Form the Heart<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The power of a family blessing begins with consistency.&nbsp;<em>Deuteronomy 6:7<\/em>&nbsp;calls us to \u201crepeat the teachings\u201d and weave God\u2019s truth into the rhythms of daily life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Not every day looks the same. Some days we hit the mark; some days we miss it. That\u2019s normal. Children begin to recognize that God\u2019s blessing isn\u2019t distant; it\u2019s spoken over them, daily and intentionally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Communication \u2014 Speak Identity, Value, and Vision<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Our children don\u2019t discover who they are by accident. Their identity is shaped in large part by what is spoken over them.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Psalm 127<\/em>&nbsp;reminds us that our children are a&nbsp;<strong>heritage<\/strong>\u2014a precious inheritance. In Scripture, inheritances were never ignored; they were cherished, claimed, and protected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Just as Jacob blessed each of his children in&nbsp;<em>Genesis 49<\/em>, speaking distinct words over their lives, we are invited to do the same. When he blessed Joseph (Gen. 49:25-26), he spoke of God\u2019s favor, provision, and generational influence. Blessings carry vision. They reveal worth. Your blessing doesn\u2019t just touch your children\u2014it builds a spiritual covering that can ripple through generations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Consider Noah:&nbsp;<em>Genesis 6:8&nbsp;<\/em>says that he \u201cfound favor with the Lord\u201d (NLT), and that he \u201cdid everything exactly as God commanded him\u201d (v. 22). His father Lamech, in naming him, conveyed a spiritual blessing as an act of hope and a prophecy of relief (Genesis 5:29, Noah means \u201crest\u201d). It was a legacy of faith that culminated in Noah as the righteous one. His obedience and faithfulness not only brought blessings to him, but also extended to his children, grandchildren, and future generations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is the power of a parental blessing:&nbsp;<strong>&nbsp;It creates a spiritual inheritance no earthly circumstance can take away.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Maneras de construir cobertura<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Animar a los abuelos a escribir bendiciones en tarjetas de cumplea\u00f1os<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Speak God\u2019s peace and mercy over your family as they leave the house.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Orar\/pronunciar una bendici\u00f3n de cobertura antes de ir a la escuela, antes de acostarse o antes de tomar grandes decisiones.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You don\u2019t need a pulpit to build a spiritual legacy, just intentionality, and a heart willing to speak God\u2019s truth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Un modelo b\u00edblico de bendici\u00f3n<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One of Scripture\u2019s most beautiful blessings is found in&nbsp;<em>Numbers 6:24\u201326<\/em>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201c<strong>May the Lord bless you and protect you.<br><\/strong><strong>May the Lord smile on you and be gracious to you.<br><\/strong><strong>May the Lord show you His favor and give you His peace.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This blessing has been spoken over God\u2019s people for thousands of years\u2014and it still holds power today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Bendiciones de ejemplo para tus hijos<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><em>\"I bless you\u2014may God give you a wise heart, teach you to love what He loves, and lead you into life, peace, and the good He has prepared for you.\"<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em>\"I bless you\u2014may the Lord give you a heart that loves Him, and the strength to walk in that love every day.\"<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Feel free to adapt blessings to your child\u2019s personality, age, needs, or season of life. Keep them simple. Keep them heartfelt. Keep them rooted in God\u2019s Word.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Start Today\u2014A New Mercy, A New Blessing<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">No matter how yesterday went, today is a fresh start.
